HOLI: How to play HOLI with colors of Love & Happiness

Festival begins with a package of excitement, planning, celebration and ends with memories.

Holi, a festival of colours is celebrated in India in the spring season to celebrate the triumph of good over evil, good harvest. etc. People celebrate it by putting colors on others' faces. The importance of this festival is such that Holi is generally used as an adjective to express any moment of joy in life.

I want to bring another dimension to celebrate this occasion which would bring real happiness in an individual's life and moreover it would make this world a better place to live in.

This year, make Holi memorable by using the following seven colours of life:

 1)   Acceptance:   Accept yourself the way you are and accept others the way they are. It doesn't mean that we don't have to improve ourselves or make any good changes in society but by accepting everything the way they are, our minds become quiet and there is no more resistance in mind which would eat up our mental energy. Acceptance brings the mind into the present state.

2) Right observation: While dealing with any issue of life or any thought of the mind, don't make any quick judgment based on prejudices, don't flow with emotions, just observe it in a detached way as a witness. This detached observation helps in making good decisions.

3) Faith: Have faith in nature's law of abundance and yourself, good times are bound to come in your life.

4) Mental peace:   We do anything in life ultimately for mental peace. So why not we start living life with peace of mind and everything will fall at its own place.

5) Patience: Things happen at their own pace. Have patience, fruits of action can come in any form.

6) Detachment: If you do not crave for success, then there is no worry for failure also. Practice detachment in every sphere of life, i.e. with work, people, things etc.

7) Love: Be in love with life and the whole existence. Being in love is the key to happiness.

Wish you a very happy and conscious HOLI.

A person suffering from these problems feels irritated throughout the day and has to depend on pills. The most unfortunate thing is that it becomes very difficult to get treatment for these problems as the doctors charge very high fees and yet can't provide any permanent solution.                 Thankfully, some ancient meditative traditions provide very simple solutions to these problems. Let the few things be very clear. There are three states of life which are known as waking life, dreaming life and deep sleep. Let us know these terms in detail : Waking Life : The state which we know as a conscious state and experience it mostly in the daytime. It contains the active part of life when we experience our body as true identity with our eyes open and sense organs workin...

How Vedanta can help you deal with fear and anxiety

Suppose you are going through a lot of troubles, trapped in a tragic situation and you are feeling so helpless amidst all the difficulties. What will happen if you suddenly wake up to realize that it was just a dream, a nightmare? Won’t you feel so relaxed after knowing that whatever tragedy was happening with you was not real but it was just happening in a dream? According to Vedanta, there are mainly three states of reality: waking, dreaming and deep sleep. Waking life(Jagrat) is where we experience physical realities, dreaming life(Swapna) means the world of only mental thoughts and dreams without physical experience and deep sleep(Sushupta) is the state where physical and mental existence disappear. While we dream, we think that it is real. Only when we wake up, we realize that it was just a dream. Similarly, waking life is also like a dream. This can be experienced by simple logic that whenever we remember past, the past moments appear like a dream. The only differenc...
